About Clear Springs Development Company: The Clear Springs Plan is a long-term plan to develop over 7,000 acres in the Fort Mill area. The Close family – Fort Mill’s biggest benefactor and heirs to Springs Industries, developed the Plan to encourage careful growth in the town they live in and helped foster for over 200 years.

The Close family formed the Clear Springs Development Company to set the plan in motion.

The Clear Springs development company is best known for Baxter Village; it's mixed-use master planned development in Fort Mill. However, Clear Springs Development has also developed several office, retail and industrial parks. Already several companies have relocated their facilities to Fort Mill in our industrial and office parks – US Foodservice, Northern Hydrolics, Beldon Wire and Cable, Allegiance Corp. and Weyerhaueser – bringing over 2,700 jobs to Fort Mill and investing over $141 million dollars in capital investment.

The vision of the Close Family and goal of the Clear Springs Development is to blend progress with preservation. Through all phases of development the concern for the environment has been our guiding principle.
